It’s not going to look “cool”, and it’s often going to be hard to handle. But reciting, meditating on, and obeying God’s word are the keys to godly success. The question is, do we even want these keys?
Theme of Joshua: Israel inherits the Promised Land. Rahab provides unexpected assurance of God’s promise. Rahab renounces that of her own people and puts her faith (active trust) in the LORD – affirming Israelite prophecy, history, and theology. This account demonstrates how non-Israelites were always a part of God’s redemptive plan. She is commended not necessarily for lying, but for demonstrating her faith through actions — as we all should
What’s the key to “success” in life? According to the book of Joshua, from God’s perspective, true success comes from meditating on and adhering to the word of God.
In spite of Israel’s less-than-perfect faithfulness to the covenant, God, in His perfect faithfulness to the covenant, fulfilled the promises He had made to the Israelite patriarchs. They were given the Promised Land.
