One of the many blessings of remaining connected to Christ, the True Vine, is effective prayer. And if we branches are truly in union with the True Vine, our desires and will should conform to Christ’s — to the glory of God.
In John, things are very cut-and-dry. Those who do not remain fruitfully connected to Christ will burn like barren branches thrown in the fire…
Christ is the Vine; we Christians are the Branches. Apart from the True Vine we can truly do nothing. Yet if we stay connected to the root of Christ, we can bear the fruit of Christ.
