“Controversial Conclusion! He’s Alive; You Afraid?” | Mark 16:1-8 Sermon

First shared during the 4.9.23 Alpha Baptist Church Resurrection Sunday Service. First posted on 4.11.23. Also see the previous Mark 16:1-8 Bible study.

The Gospel of Mark has a controversial conclusion.

I contend that the abrupt cliffhanger is geared to grab our attention – and keep us talking.

Metaphorically, the angel at the empty tomb passes the baton to the women, and Mark passes the baton to us.

Will we run and tell the Good News about the Resurrected Redeemer? Or are we scared speechless?
