“Christian Content” | Philippians 4:12-13 Sermon

First preached on 4.30.23 at Alpha Baptist Church. First on posted 5.2.23

Nothing in this world can give us lasting satisfaction.

And our sinful society wants us to always seek satisfaction outside of our Savior.

Moreover, the content we consume in our culture – especially on the screens – breeds and leads to us being discontent.

But Paul says he has learned the secret of being content in Christ (Php 4:12). And, in a sense, this is no secret at all.

And Like Paul, we should seek to spread this secret to every sector of society.

In Philippians 4:13, in the Lord, Paul is not claiming to be omnipotent but explaining how we can live content.

Whether we win or we lose, whether we have a little or a lot, whether we are locked up or have our liberty, we can be content in Christ.

Like the Philippians, let’s contribute to and cooperate with those who are communicating Christian content. And let’s consume more Christian content so we can have Christian content(ment).

Less time with our eyes on the screens, more time with our eyes on the Scriptures.

Dear friends, when you are so satisfied with the Savior… when He means more to you than anything… that this world could ever offer… you can be content in any and all conditions… satisfied no matter the circumstances.

And you can do all this through Him who gives you strength.
