Who Is This? (Three Words) Throughout the gospels and the past two millennia, many have struggled with the identity of Jesus, wondering “___ ___ ___?” (Mk 4:41; cf. Mk 1:1; Mk 8:27-29, 15:39).
Lake The Savior stills the storm after teaching from a boat in the Sea of Galilee, which is actually a ___ (Mk 4:1; cf. Mk 4:35f.).
Following Jesus tells the disciples to cross to the other side; the disciples are in the stormy waters while ____ the Savior’s orders (Mk 4:35).
Sleeping During the storming, Jesus is ____ on a cushion (Mk 4:38; cf. Ps 4:8; Jon 1:4-6; Mt 12:41; Lk 11:32).
Rebuked Jesus ____ the wind and silenced the sea. Jesus is Lord over natural and supernatural forces (Mk 4:39; cf. Ps 106:9; Mk 1:25, 3:11-12, 9:25).
God Only ___ still storms; only the Creator can exercise such control over His creation (Mk 4:41; cf. Gen 8:1; 2 Sam 22:16; Ps 18:15, 65:5-7, 74:13-14, 89:9, 93:3-4, 104:5-7, 107:28-30, 147:18; Is 50:2, 51:9-10; Job 26:12, 28:25; Amos 4:13; Nah 1:3-4). In this passage, the storms are literal (but see Is 43:2).
Calm Though there is a great storm, Christ causes great ___ (Mk 4:39; cf. Jon 1:12, 16).
Fear A great feat of the Lord should lead to a great ___ (i.e., reverence, awe) of and faith in the Lord (Mk 4:40-41; cf. Ex 14:29-31; Jon 1:15-16).
Shipwrecked Though the Lord can still any storm, faithful Christians can still be ____ (Ac 27:22-25; 2 Cor 11:25).
Obey Even the winds and waves __ Him (Mk 4:41). Even the Satanic spirits ___ Him (Mk 1:27). So should we (Jn 14:15, 21, 23, 15:14-15, etc.)!
